Meet Our Keynote Speaker: Daniela Angelina Jelinčić, PhD

 

Daniela Angelina Jelinčić, PhD is a Senior Research Adviser and Full Professor at the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), Croatia. She holds a PhD in Ethnology from the University of Zagreb.

Her research and professional interests include cultural tourism, cultural heritage management, cultural and creative industries, cultural and tourism policy, creativity, the experience economy, and social innovation.

In 2019/2020, she was a Fulbright Visiting Researcher at the University of Georgia (USA), where she conducted research on “Sensory Stimuli and Their Impact on Basic Emotions in the Experience Economy.”

As an adjunct professor, she teaches courses in cultural tourism, cultural heritage management, creative industries, and creativity at the University of Zagreb, Zagreb School of Economics and Management, and Edward Bernays University of Applied Sciences. She has also lectured internationally, including at the University of the Arts Helsinki (Finland) and within the UNESCO Chair for Cultural Heritage Management and Sustainable Development at the Institute of Advanced Studies (iASK) in Kőszeg, Hungary.

Dr. Jelinčić is the (co-)author of several scientific books, including Edible Experiences: The Science and Art of Food Perceptions, Innovations in Culture and Development: The Culturinno Effect in Public Policy, ABC of Cultural Tourism, Culture in a Shop Window, and Culture, Tourism, Interculturalism. She is also co-editor of Creating and Managing Experiences in Cultural Tourism and Economic Sustainability of Culture and Cultural Tourism.

She has published extensively in scientific journals and edited volumes, and has contributed to numerous national and international studies, guidebooks, and strategic policy documents.

Dr. Jelinčić has served as a Council of Europe expert for cultural tourism and has coordinated or participated in a wide range of interdisciplinary national and international research projects in the fields of cultural heritage, cultural tourism, creative industries, cultural and tourism policy, and social entrepreneurship.
