How to get here

By car
You can use one of three possible roads:
– Down the A1 motorway from the direction of Zagreb/Rijeka – exit Zadar Zapad (Zadar West)
– Down the A1 motorway from the direction of Split – exit Zadar Istok (Zadar East)
– Down the Adriatic Highway from the direction Šibenik/Split

By plane
The air traffic, from a small, but modern, airport (9 km from the town center) connects Zadar with other towns and cities in Croatia, but also with some European capitals. Other destinations are available through changing planes in Zagreb, which as the capital of the country, has an international airport.

Ryanair operates low cost flights from Baden-Baden, Billund, Brussels (Charleroi), Dublin, Dusseldorf (Weeze), East Midlands, Frankfurt (Hahn), Gothenburg (City), Haugesund, Liverpool, London (Stansted), Marseille, Oslo (Rygge and Torp), Paris (Beauvais), Stockholm (Skavsta). The flight destinations may differ by season. Airport buses run to the central bus station/train station and the Old Town, from Zadar airport terminal. They depart in conjunction with arriving flights, see airport bus schedule for details, and therefore they will run more frequently during weekdays than weekends, as more flights are arriving at the airport. The buses are clean, comfortable and efficient, costs 25 kuna, and there are no baggage fees. The journey takes 20-25 minutes.
Taxis are always available at airport. Cost to old town is approximately 150 kuna.

By bus
International bus lines connect Croatia with Austria, Italy, Hungary, France, Germany and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is the cheapest mode of travel if you’re coming from Eastern Europe. Zadar can be reached by bus from different destinations via Zagreb, Rijeka, Split and Dubrovnik.

Taxis can also be found at the Zadar Bus Terminal. The price for the ride from Zadar Main Bus Station to the main University building is around 19,00-40,00 KUNA (5 km).

One way ticket can be bought in the bus and costs 10,00 KUNA
Two-way ticket can be bought at the newspaper stand near every bus stop and it costs 16,00 KUNA.
