We are happy to announce the BAL-ADRIA Summer School on Digital Humanities 2026!

BAL-ADRIA is a collaboration between countries surrounding the Baltic Sea, and countries surrounding the Adriatic Sea, thus connecting Northern and Southern Europe.

In a supportive academic environment, we are offering good-sized classes ideal for learning, discussing and getting feedbacks on your ideas and thoughts. The programme is taught by an international team of researchers and practitioners of digital humanities and social sciences and is delivered in a form of lectures, seminars and practical workshops.

Kontinuität und Wandel in der Germanistik: Themen – Diskurse – Dynamiken

Die Germanistik als Disziplin befindet sich seit jeher in einem Spannungsverhältnis zwischen Traditionsbewusstsein und Innovationsanspruch. Themenfelder, theoretische Ansätze und methodische Zugänge unterliegen einem ständigen Wandel, während zugleich bestimmte Fragestellungen, Textkorpora oder Denkfiguren über Jahrzehnte hinweg fortbestehen. Die geplante Tagung widmet sich der Frage, wie sich Kontinuität und Wandel in der germanistischen Forschung, Lehre und Institutionalisierung darstellen – historisch, systematisch, raumbezogen und zukunftsorientiert.

Ein besonderer Fokus liegt auf aktuellen und aufkommenden Themen, die die germanistische Forschung in den kommenden Jahren beeinflussen werden, insbesondere vor dem Hintergrund technologischer, gesellschaftlicher und kultureller Transformationsprozesse. Die Tagung versteht sich als Forum für den interdisziplinären Austausch und die kritische Reflexion dieser Entwicklungen, um den Beitrag der Germanistik zu aktuellen Diskursen sichtbar zu machen und weiterzuentwickeln.

International Scientific and Artistic Conference Rethinking Childhood IV Towards Transdisciplinarity

Zadar, May 28-30, 2026

With the fourth international scientific and artistic conference Rethinking Childhood IV, we aim to highlight the interdisciplinary nature of studies for teachers and educators as a distinctive feature from which we start our reflections on childhood and to encourage questioning the possibilities of connecting different areas of topics related to childhood. Therefore, in the title of the upcoming conference, we emphasised a transdisciplinary approach, which, through its inclusiveness, goes a step further than interdisciplinarity, promoting not only the connection but also the integration of various fields of science, as well as the intertwining of science and art. The transdisciplinary approach is also significant because it is inclined towards participatory practices, meaning that in such research, other interested parties from the broader community can participate, including children, whose active contribution to childhood studies has already been recognised within the framework of so-called child-focused research.

3rd International Conference on Corpora in Language Learning, Translation and Research

The international conference Corpora in Language learning, Translation and Research aims to bring together specialists in the disciplines of corpus linguistics, specialized and literary translation, foreign language teaching, lexicography, LSP and NLP in order to share their insights on using corpora in language and translation education.

The conference is organized around three main research topics :

  • Data-driven learning (DDL) in foreign language education
  • Corpora as resources in specialized and literary translation
  • Corpus driven and corpus based linguistic research that contributes to the advent of language corpora in language and translation education.

Nova promišljanja o djetinjstvu IV – Prema transdisciplinarnom pristupu

Četvrtom međunarodnom znanstveno-umjetničkom konferencijom Rethinking Childhood IV želja nam je istaknuti interdisciplinarni karakter studija za učitelje i odgojitelje kao osobitosti od koje polazimo u našim promišljanjima o djetinjstvu te potaknuti propitivanje mogućnosti povezivanja različitih područja temā vezanih uz djetinjstvo. Stoga smo u naslovu nadolazeće konferencije istaknuli transdisciplinarni pristup koji svojom uključivošću odlazi korak dalje od interdisciplinarnoga, potičući ne samo povezivanje, nego i prožimanje različitih područja znanosti, kao i ispreplitanje znanosti i umjetnosti. Transdisciplinarni pristup značajan je još po tome što je sklon participativnim praksama, a što bi značilo da u takvim istraživanjima mogu sudjelovati i ostali zainteresirani iz šire zajednice, uključujući djecu, a čiji je aktivni doprinos u studijima djetinjstva već prepoznat u okviru tzv. child-focused research.
