BAL-ADRIA is a collaboration between countries surrounding the Baltic Sea, and countries surrounding the Adriatic Sea, thus connecting Northern and Southern Europe.

In a supportive academic environment, we are offering good-sized classes ideal for learning, discussing and getting feedbacks on your ideas and thoughts. The programme is taught by an international team of researchers and practitioners of digital humanities and social sciences and is delivered in a form of lectures, seminars and practical workshops.

 

EARLY MODERN NAUTICAL CHARTS : INFORMATION SOURCES, NAVIGATION MEANS AND COMMUNICATION MEDIA

The conference will discuss early modern nautical charts as an important form of cartographic expression and as communication media focused on the sea areas, islands, and the mainland coast. The conference aims to bring together scholars from various fields related to the history of cartography and navigation to present their latest research achievements and discuss the scientific importance of their work.

Konferencija se bavi odgojem u širem smislu pa je namijenjena odgojiteljima, nastavnicima osnovnih i srednjih škola, stručnim suradnicima, ravnateljima, odgajateljima u učeničkim domovima, nastavnicima visokoobrazovnih ustanova, studentima preddiplomskih, diplomskih i poslijediplomskih studija te stručnjacima kojima su odgoj i obrazovanje znanstveno-stručni interes, kao i široj javnosti.

Program konferencije sastavljen je od plenarnog dijela, rada u sekcijama, okruglog stola, radionica, panel diskusija i izložbe postera.

Stanovništvo između granica i teritorija: izazovi, krize i trendovi

Odjel za povijest i Odjel za geografiju Sveučilišta u Zadru u suradnji s poslijediplomskim doktorskim studijem Jadran – poveznica među kontinentima organiziraju znanstveni skup na temu Stanovništvo između granica i teritorija: izazovi, krize i trendovi.

Cilj skupa je s povijesnog, geografskog i sociološkog aspekta te s aspekta drugih društvenih i humanističkih znanstvenih područja razmotriti problematiku složenog međuodnosa stanovništva i granica. Tijekom povijesti, ali i u suvremenom razdoblju političke promjene i promjene granica carstava, država te državnih i gospodarskih asocijacija odražavale su se na društveno-gospodarski razvoj pojedinih područja i regija, na migracije stanovništva te odnos centar – periferija.

Skup je namijenjen iskusnim istraživačima koji se bave navedenom problematikom, ali i mladim istraživačima, studentima poslijediplomskih doktorskih studija. Za sudionike skupa nije predviđena kotizacija, a službeni jezici skupa su hrvatski i engleski.

NooJ is a linguistic development environment software as well as a corpus processor. NooJ provides linguists with tools to develop dictionaries, Regular Grammars, Context-Free Grammars, Context-Sensitive Grammars, and Unrestricted Grammars as well as their graphical equivalents, to formalize various linguistic phenomena. NooJ’s multi-layer approach allows linguists to accumulate elementary descriptions across different linguistic levels.

NooJ is used as a corpus processor in the Digital Humanities as it allows researchers in the Social sciences to apply sophisticated queries to large corpora in real time, annotate texts automatically and perform various statistical analyses, etc.

NooJ’s linguistic engine has been integrated into various NLP applications that perform automatic semantic annotation, Named Entities Recognition, Information extraction, Paraphrase Generation, Business Intelligence, Machine Translator, Web Semantics, etc.

NooJ is a free open-source software promoted by the METASHARE European programme. It can run on Windows (C# .NET), macOS, LINUX and UNIX (Java). Its new engine and its source “RA” can be downloaded from GitLab and runs natively on Windows, macOS and LINUX.
